Obituary for Warren M. Kime
Warren Miller Kime, age 87, of York, passed away peacefully Wednesday, August 24, 2022, with his family by his side. He was predeceased by his parents, Vernon and Vera Kime, brother, Glenn Kime, and grandson David Kime.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Carol; children, Michael (Gladys) Kime, Cynthia (William) Doolittle, and Bonnie (Donald) MacLeod; daughter-in-law Diane Kime; grandchildren, William (Katie) Doolittle, James (Kimberly) Doolittle, Laurel MacLeod, Heather (Brian) Ray, Scott (Tabitha) MacLeod), Jason (Jamie) Kime and Michael (Julie Cooper) MacLeod; 7 great-grandchildren, Nehemiah Doolittle, Eliana Doolittle, Lucia Doolittle, Carina Doolittle, Harley Ray, Lillian Ray, and Declan Kime, sister, Joyce Kime, special cousin Dorothy Kime, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Warren was born April 13, 1935, in Caledonia, NY, the son of Vernon and Vera (Miller) Kime. They were farmers in Caledonia before buying land in York in 1942 and forming the Pleasant View Farm on Craig Road. Warren graduated from York Central School in 1953. In 1958 he married Carol Lyke. Warren worked for Rochester Telephone Company for 25 years, retiring in 1993, and then purchased Cal Bowl in Caledonia in 1996 which he operated with his wife and son for 7 years before retiring full time.
Warren was an avid hunter, softball player, Member of the York Fire Department and Ambulance Squad, huge Yankee fan, bowler, and member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows Avon Lodge #455. He was inducted into the Perry Bowling Association Hall of Fame, and a Past Nobel Grand of Avon Lodge #455 and Past Grand Guardian for the NYS IOOF.
Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, August 27th, 2022, at 11:00 am at York Presbyterian Church, 2662 Main Street, York, NY with Pastor John Zatkiewicz officiating. Fellowship and a light lunch will follow.
