IONIA - January 12, 2021 at age 88. She is survived by her sons, Eric (Gayla) of TX, Marc (Laurie), John Recktenwald both of Ionia; brother Rodger Baird; grandchildren, Krista, Dalton, Shane Recktenwald; several nieces and nephews.
At one time Leona was active in the Ionia Womens Club, and the Ionia Ladies Auxiliary.
Leona was predeceased by her husband, George W. Recktenwald, Jr., son David Recktenwald; sisters, Nora, Yevtte, Simone, Doris, Eva; brother, Edgar.
Her Funeral Mass will be held Saturday at 10 AM at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 25 Mendon Ionia Rd, Mendon. The Mass will be live streamed at www.saintcath.org. (Masks and social distancing will be required at church) Immediately following the Mass interment will be held at Miller’s Corners Cemetery, Ionia. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the St. Catherine of Siena Church or Alzheimer’s Association, 435 East Henrietta Road, Rochester, NY 14620.
A celebration of Leona’s life will be held at a time to be announced in the Summer of 2021.
