Avon – May 12, 2020 at age 90. He is survived by his loving wife, Lois, of 37 years; children, Roy (Sheila) Englert, Jr. of Greece, Sandy (Michael) Maciejewski of Gates, Cliff (Terri) Englert of Bergen, David (Vicki) Englert of Medina, Carma (Gene) Harrison of Rochester, Ricky Russell of Webster, Charlene R. Sendel of Geneseo; sisters, Margaret “Peggy” Stegg, Marlene Miller; 14 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Roy was predeceased by his brother, Robert Englert; sister, Jean Blaschek.

Roy was a career military veteran whom served in the Army, Marines, and retired out of the Air Force at the rank of Master Sergeant. Roy served in the post-World War II Era and fought in the Korean War. After his military career Roy went to work for Baush and Lomb in management for 18 yrs. Roy enjoyed every day of his retirement which involved many hobbies; such as charter fishing trips and hunting with his sons Roy Jr, Cliff and David; Visiting his princess and only daughter Sandy; Running of a campground with his wife; Seasonal trips to the “Berry Patch” from Riverview campground, road trips with his grandchildren to Florida and back; Watching every Space Shuttle launch, and traveling up and down the east coast to countless Air Shows with his grandson. Roy was loved deeply by family, brothers in arms, friends and especially by his granddaughter Samantha Sendel whom made it possible to be in the comfort of his home and pass with dignity surrounded by love ones.

Services and interment will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers Memorials maybe made to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516.
