Donald D. Bellinger
LIMA - March 29, 2019 at age 74. He is survived by his children Wendi Borsching of Lima, Jeremy (Courtney) Bellinger of Livonia; adored grandchildren Jarrod, Felicia Borsching, Anthony Bellinger.
Don was predeceased by his wife Mary D. Bellinger; parents Douglas and Sylvia Bellinger.
Don worked for General Motors for 35 yrs., and then went to work for HFL driving bus for another 17 yrs. before his retirement. He joined the Lima Fire Dept. as a fire policeman in 2000 and obtained the rank of Captain. He turned exempt in 2006. Don had a 38 yr. career in the martial arts. He held 7th degree Black Belt rankings in the Arts of Tatsudo, Aiki Jujitsu, and Goshin Jutsu (Bushido Martial Arts).
Family and friends are invited to call Friday 2 – 4, 7 – 9 at the O’Connell-Dougherty Funeral Home 2041 Lake Ave., Lima. His Memorial Service will be held Saturday at 10:30 AM at Lima Baptist Church, 1574 Rochester St., Lima. Interment Avon Cemetery, Avon. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Camp Good Days and Special Times, PO Box 665 Mendon, NY 14506 or Make-A-Wish America, Gift Processing, 1702 East Highland Ave., Suite 400 Phoenix, AZ 85016.
