Avon: October 7, 2016 at age 87. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Lucia Kerr; children Elecia (Stephen) Almekinder of Rochester, Audrey (Stephen) Rapp of Dalton, Allan (Beverly) Kerr of TX; brother Charles (Rose) Kerr; grandchildren, Rebecca (Nick) Bryan, Christopher Van Overbake, Jaymie and Steven Kerr, Gabriel and Noah Almekinder; great grandson Luke Bryan; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister JoAnn Weigel.

Bob was the son of Edna and Edwin Kerr, born in 1929 in New Castle, Pennsylvania. After his tour with the Air Force in Colorado Springs, he attended the University of Illinois at Champagne-Urbana and earned a degree in fine arts. He worked for the University of Pittsburgh in Communications, Point Park College as director of graphic design and professor emeritus from Rochester Institute of Technology.

Saturday at 10:00 AM his Memorial Service will be held at the Avon United Methodist Church, 130 Genesee St., Avon. Private interment Avon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers Memorials may be made to the Avon United Methodist Church, 130 Genesee Street, Avon, NY 14414 or the Robert Shaffer Award, 1 Lomb Memorial Drive, Rochester, NY 14623.
