LIMA - July 20, 2018 at age 85. Predeceased by his parents, George and Mae Schunk; siblings, Leo Schunk, Dolores Boone and Ronald Schunk. He is survived by his wife, Ann; sons, Michael (Maureen), Mark (Robin) Schunk; grandchildren; Krista, Brianna, Trisha (Anthony Fredenburg), Justin and Shane; great granddaughter, Eliza; sister, Marilyn (Paul Smith) Strumph; several nieces and nephews; lifelong Army friend, Douglas O’Brien and friend Joe Strumph.
Donald served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He worked for Manitou Concrete for 37 years before retiring. He enjoyed the outdoors which included hunting, fishing, boating, and snowmobiling. He also did wood working. He escorted trips for the Lima Senior residents and was the Lima Senior Citizen of the Year.
Friends may call Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the O’Connell-Dougherty Funeral Home, 2041 Lake Ave., Lima. His Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday 11 AM at St. Rose Church, Lima.
